As an arts educator, Barbour's workshops engage participants through self-reflection, storytelling, experimentation, and play. She has facilitated workshops for non-profit orgs, libraries, school classrooms, and universities. Below is a list of her current offerings.

A one-time or multi-session workshop where participants will create handmade booklets known as 'zines'. In this workshop, participants will learn the history of zines and their importance as both tools for sharing information and as art objects. Participants will use the medium of zines to educate someone on a topic of interest, speak to a social justice cause, or as a creative outlet.
This workshop can be adapted to complement many academic subjects. Ages 11+
A one-time or multi-session workshop where participants will create handmade comics about their lives. In this workshop, participants will learn the importance of autobiographical comics as a literary medium and how these stories connect us.
This workshop would be a great complement to academic subjects such as social studies, history, art, or creative writing. This especially would be a great addition to any memoir-centered English course lessons. Ages 11+
In this 5 session workshop, participants will learn the basics of drawing in the style of Japanese animation and comics, as well as exercise figure drawing skills. Participants will get a beginner’s look into the elements unique to this art form and use what they learned to create their own unique characters by the end of the five sessions.
This workshop would be a great complement to any lesson on Japanese culture and media or figure drawing. Ages 10+
In this one-session workshop, participants will explore who they are by creating a collage-style self-portrait with various symbols, images, and words that express them. Through traditional and repurposed materials, participants will make symbolic representations of themselves while also learning about symbolism, metaphor, and other aspects of conceptual art.
This workshop would be a great complement to art lessons on symbolism and metaphor. Ages 10+
In this one-session play-based workshop, participants will experiment and create new work with non-art tools. Whether it be using forks and Q-tips for painting, or Lego building blocks for printmaking, participants will be tasked to figure out through trial and error the best method to come up with a finished product.
This workshop is a great way for participants to work on creative problem skills and learn the importance of knowing your tools. Ages 10+
